MicroDreams is excited to partner with some of the best companies worldwide in providing microfinance institutions (MFIs) with loans and loan guarantees. We would also like to thank the social investors from the ICE Angels network in New Zealand for their support!
Founded in 1999, CreSud is an Italian private limited company offering financial resources to MFIs and producers in Latin America, Africa, Asia and the South Pacific. The company has a dual goal: 1) to improve access to financial services for firms normally excluded from local financial systems, and 2) to increase the options available towards socially responsible investing and saving. CreSud is a founding member of the European Micro Finance Platform, and of the Permanent Committee on MicroCredit for Italy. They are also a member of IFAT, and participate in the MixMarket and the Italian Microfinance Platform.
As a Dutch worldwide cooperative society, Oikocredit promotes global justice by challenging people, churches and others to share their resources through socially responsible investments and by empowering disadvantaged people with credit. The company makes investment capital available to projects promoting the self reliance of the poor, especially in developing countries. Oikocredit is one of the world’s largest sources of private funding to the microfinance sector. The company invests approximately 80% of its development finance portfolio in microfinance and 20% in other sectors including agriculture, manufacturing and education.
Mulago is a New York private foundation designed and built to carry on the life work of Rainer Arnhold. Rainer’s passion was the prospect of a better life for children in poverty, and so the Foundation’s work is focused on health, poverty, and conservation in the world’s poorest places. Mulago looks for organizations built around a big idea and focused on maximum social impact. They fund on the basis of a priority problem, a scalable solution, and an organization that can deliver. They like to drive innovation that will fill critical gaps, so the company funds mostly early stage organizations, but also invests in key proven solutions and the organizations taking them to scale. Mulago operates like a philanthropic venture fund with proven impact as an analog for profit, and cost-per-impact for return on investment.
The ICE Angels is an Auckland-based angel investment network that was founded by the ICEHOUSE business incubator in 2003. Its objective is to connect high-potential start-up ventures with willing investors in order to support the success of emerging New Zealand companies. The ICE Angels is a collective of individual investors, rather than a pooled investment fund. Investors make their own decisions on investments and usually take an active role in the direction of the company following investment. ICE Angel members are CEOs, senior executives, entrepreneurs and professionals with experience in the entrepreneurial space.
